Milam –’91 Syclone #xxxx
Prototype Syclone
At the cruise, we met a gentleman who owned one of
the original prototype Syclones. We all were in awe at the sight of this
vehicle. It had no cladding, but it had Syclone rims and was 100%
Syclone drivetrain. And you thought that normal Syclones were sleepers?
We were very lucky to have the owner let us take some pictures of this
rarity; even luckier to receive a ride in it! It even has the prototype
center console.

PPG Syclone

Here's the interior and the center switch
console. Nice huh!
You can make out the embroidery and the red Halon switches.

Here's Greg in the PPG, Lucky Guy!

Our first truck to get a peek inside of was the
PPG Syclone. WOW!!—what an interior! This Syclone had 2-tone leather
’93 Typhoon seats, with ‘Syclone’ nicely embroidered into the
headrest. The 5-point racing harness wasn’t too shabby either! After a
few rolls of film spent on the interior and a quick look at the odometer
which read 5,356 miles, I thought it might be cool to get some shots of
the pace lighting system. This was pretty slick! One flick of the
center-console mounted switch, and it looked like a professional light
show! The evening had crept upon us, so it was dark enough to see the
beauty of this lighting system. A few more glamour shots --each of us in
the drivers seat, and we were ready for Typhoon #001

Sign found in the Glovebox.

What a find this was. To think, this truck almost
missed our inspection! I was more anxious to get inside this one than
anyone else. The PPG Syclone was a find, but this was the very first
’93 Typhoon built –truly a piece of history in its own. I knew I was
seated in something special when I opened the glove compartment. I found
a sign which read: "Show vehicle not to be moved out of
garage!!". A faint musty smell, lead me to believe that I might be
one of the very few that has sat in the truck for a very long time.
While Chad and Greg were talking Syclone/Typhoon shop, I decided I’d
take a roll or two of film on this Typhoon. I even took a shot of the
odometer; which read slightly over 11,000 miles.
